Commonly known as African daisies, Osteospermum are a fantastic genus of flowering plants. ‘Whirligig’ is a cultivar with intriguing curved petals that make it an oddball that sits perfectly in a tropical garden design. The blooms close up at night and on very cloudy days. Keep deadheading to prolong flowering and propagate by stem cuttings to keep the plant safe in a harsh winter.
